Pargat Leads Congress Poll Push with Golden Temple Unity Pitch
Pargat, the new PPCC chief, launched a Congress poll campaign in Chandigarh, flanked by AICC in‑charge Sachin Pilot and rival Vijay Inder Singla, to project a united front after months of infighting.
The campaign aims to project a united front, highlighting unity at the Golden Temple, a prominent Sikh shrine, as part of his outreach to voters ahead of the upcoming elections.
The Congress party has been dealing with internal divisions, and the new campaign seeks to present a cohesive image by bringing together key leaders from different factions.
Pargat’s initiative follows a period of tension within the party, and the presence of both Pilot and Singla underscores an effort to reconcile rival groups.
The campaign’s focus on the Golden Temple highlights an appeal to religious and cultural sentiments in the region.
