Jhundan backs Waris Punjab De, expelled from SAD (Punar Surjit) for 6 years

Jhundan has been expelled from the SAD (Punar Surjit) for a period of six years after openly backing the Waris Punjab De political outfit, according to the party’s general secretary, Gurpratap Singh Wadala.

Wadala said that Jhundan had previously convened unauthorised meetings within the organisation and made efforts to create divisions among its members. He added that these actions were viewed as a breach of party discipline and contributed directly to the decision to impose the six‑year ban.

The expelled leader had earlier tried to split the cadre, a move that the party regarded as destabilising. In his statement, Wadala emphasized that the alignment with Waris Punjab De was a clear violation of party rules and that the six‑year expulsion underscores the party’s stance on maintaining internal cohesion.

The decision was announced after internal deliberation within the party structure, confirming that the leadership felt the need to act firmly to preserve unity. The six‑year restriction will prevent Jhundan from taking part in any party activities, from being nominated for contests, and from holding any position during the ban period.

Wadala highlighted that the party expects its members to adhere strictly to the guidelines set by the leadership. Such steps are intended to deter similar actions by other members who might consider bypassing established procedures.

The expulsion comes amid ongoing discussions within the party about maintaining cohesion among its cadres. It reflects the broader effort to enforce discipline and ensure that all participants follow the same organisational standards.
