The bench of Justice HS Brar granted relief to a Hisar teacher who missed SIR duty after his wife’s death, overturning a penalty for skipping the election duty.
The court found that the controversy stemmed from a lack of coordination within the election machinery, where substitute BLOs were appointed on paper without being linked to the portal.
The DEO and other officials were fined ₹50,000 for their role in the irregular appointment process.
