The Haryana government has announced that, starting in the 2025‑2026 academic session, students in Classes VI to VIII will receive vocational exposure through AI and FinTech lessons. The plan targets 1.58 lakh pupils across 1,382 government schools, aiming to give them hands‑on experience via workshops, internships, projects and Kaushal Melas.

These activities are designed to introduce young learners to emerging technologies and financial concepts early in their education. By integrating AI and FinTech into the school curriculum, the state hopes to build a foundation of digital literacy and practical skills that can support future career pathways.

The move aligns with a broader national push to modernise school education and to prepare students for a rapidly changing job market. Similar programmes have been rolled out in other states, emphasizing skill development alongside traditional academics.

Under the initiative, schools will host regular workshops where students experiment with basic coding, data handling and digital finance tools. Internship opportunities will be arranged with local businesses, allowing students to observe real‑world applications of AI and financial technologies. Project work will enable learners to create simple AI models or fintech prototypes, while Kaushal Melas will provide platforms for showcasing these achievements.

Officials say the programme will be implemented progressively, with monitoring mechanisms in place to assess student engagement and learning outcomes. The chief secretary indicated that the rollout will begin in the upcoming academic year, ensuring that all 1,382 schools can participate without delay.

By embedding AI and FinTech into the everyday school experience, Haryana aims to equip its youth with the knowledge and confidence needed for the digital economy. The initiative reflects a growing recognition that early exposure to technology can enhance employability and foster innovation.

The education department will coordinate with district officers to ensure that each school has the necessary resources, including internet connectivity and trained teachers, to deliver the new curriculum effectively.
