According to the police, Kumar paid the shooters a total amount of less than a lakh rupees, with roughly half of that sum handed over before the killings took place.

The two shooters were hired after Kumar allegedly discussed the plan with them, and the payment was settled for a modest sum, underscoring the low‑profile nature of the plot.
