Panjab University (PU) announced the results of its graduate constituency senate election on the fifth day, after 37 rounds of voting, naming 15 candidates as winners.
Senate membership includes diverse stakeholder groups
The university’s senate draws its members from a broad range of stakeholders beyond ex‑officio and nominated positions, including principals of affiliated colleges, professors, associate and assistant professors, and registered graduates.
The election process concluded with the declaration of the 15 winners, completing the contested seat in the governing body.
The graduate constituency represents alumni of the university and is one of several constituencies that elect members to the senate, the institution’s governing council.
