Twenty‑nine Burail Jail convicts are enrolled in training, with 14 learning woodwork and 15 studying sewing and tailoring, six women included.

Training details

The program, described as a fresh start, provides hands‑on instruction in tailoring and woodwork trades, allowing the inmates to acquire practical skills for life after release.

Jail records confirm the enrollment numbers: 14 inmates are being trained as woodwork technicians and 15 inmates, six of them women, are studying sewing technology from three teachers.

The woodwork sessions focus on basic carpentry skills, while the sewing technology class covers garment making and textile work. The three teachers oversee both groups within the jail’s workshop facilities.

The initiative reflects an effort to craft a fresh start for the convicts, offering them a chance to learn marketable trades while incarcerated.
