An FIR was lodged at the IT City police station at 3.47 am on Friday after a cave‑in occurred at Aerocity in Mohali, with the site supervisors and the builder named in the complaint.

The Aerocity development, a prominent project in the rapidly expanding Mohali region, has drawn attention for its scale and the speed at which it is being executed. While the area continues to grow, construction safety remains a critical concern for residents and officials.

Sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 125(a) (endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS were cited in the FIR, indicating that the mishap is being treated as a serious breach of safety standards.

Police have recorded the names of the site supervisors and the builder, and have not released details about any casualties or the precise cause of the collapse. The FIR was filed at the IT City police station early Friday morning.

The incident adds to a series of construction-related concerns that have emerged in the Chandigarh‑Mohali corridor in recent years, as multiple high‑rise and infrastructure projects accelerate. Local authorities have previously highlighted the need for rigorous safety compliance amid rapid urbanization.

Investigations are ongoing, and the police have indicated that further actions will be taken based on the findings. No official statement has been issued at this stage.
