Police have taken two additional suspects into custody in the Pinjore market murder case after they attempted to escape while being transported to Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh. The incident unfolded on the Zirakpur‑Shimla highway near Mallah Mor, where the pair asked to use a washroom, stepped out of the police vehicle and, according to officials, pushed the accompanying officers before trying to jump into a culvert below the roadway.

The attempt to flee was quickly thwarted. After the suspects pushed the policemen and moved toward the culvert, the officers restrained them and returned them to the vehicle for continued travel to Parwanoo, where they were to assist in recovering evidence related to the murder that occurred in Pinjore market.

Authorities said the escape attempt highlights the challenges of moving high‑profile suspects between locations. “The suspects tried to use the brief stop to disappear into the surrounding terrain,” a senior police officer reported, adding that the quick response prevented any further disruption to the investigation.

The murder in Pinjore market has already resulted in multiple arrests. The latest development adds two more individuals to the list of those taken into custody, bringing the total number of arrested persons in the case to at least four. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the killing and the alleged involvement of the newly arrested suspects.

Police have not released further details about the motive or the identity of the victim, but they have indicated that the ongoing probe will focus on gathering forensic evidence and interviewing witnesses. The investigation remains active, and officials have assured the public that they are committed to delivering justice in the matter.
