Chandigarh is preparing for a second attempt at the NEET‑UG 2026 exam after the original test scheduled for May 3 was cancelled on May 12. More than 22.7 lakh candidates had registered for the May 3 slot.

Investigations revealed significant overlaps in the question papers, leading the authorities to scrap the exam and announce a re‑examination.

A two‑layer security arrangement is now in place as the city gears up for the re‑exam, aiming to ensure a smooth and secure testing environment.

The re‑exam date has not yet been specified, but officials say it will be communicated to candidates promptly.
