The accused, identified as 34-year-old Harjinder Mann, allegedly attacked the victim, Dimple, with a knife inside the office premises of SRP Logistics near Bestech Mall in Mohali on Thursday evening, according to police officials.

Woman Suffers Nearly 30 Stab Wounds In Mohali Office Attack
Both the victim and the accused were rushed to a nearby hospital immediately after the incident. Doctors declared Dimple dead on arrival. Police officials said the victim suffered nearly 30 stab wounds during the brutal attack.
Harjinder Mann is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and has been booked for murder.
The shocking Mohali murder case has raised serious questions about workplace security, employee safety, and access control inside private offices.
CCTV Footage Captures Brutal Attack Inside Office
Purported CCTV footage from the office premises reportedly shows the accused approaching Dimple from behind while she was seated at her workstation.
The woman can reportedly be seen trying to escape after the attack began, but the accused allegedly chased her, dragged her by the hair, and continued stabbing her despite attempts by colleagues to intervene.
Employees present at the office allegedly tried to stop the accused, but he reportedly threatened them with the knife.
According to police officials, the incident took place during a shift change, when only a few employees were present on the floor.
Police Investigating Relationship Angle
Police said preliminary investigations suggest that Dimple and Harjinder Mann had known each other for nearly three years while working at the same company in Mohali.
Officials stated that the two were previously “good friends,” but differences reportedly emerged between them a few months ago.
Investigators believe the accused had allegedly been attempting to reconnect with the victim after the relationship deteriorated, but she reportedly rejected those efforts.
Mohali Phase 11 SHO Aman Baidwan told reporters that the accused was allegedly dealing with emotional distress linked to another failed relationship before coming in contact with Dimple.
Victim’s Family Says They Were Unaware
Dimple’s family, based in Patiala, said they had no knowledge about Harjinder Mann or any alleged relationship between the two.
Relatives revealed that discussions regarding Dimple’s marriage were ongoing and that she was planning to resign from her job soon.
The family also questioned how the accused managed to carry a knife into the office premises, calling it a major security lapse.
A grieving relative alleged that the company should have been more aware of the accused’s behaviour and mental condition.
Political Leaders Demand Strict Action
The Mohali stabbing incident has sparked widespread reactions, with political leaders and local residents demanding strict punishment for the accused.
BJP leader Jai Inder Kaur described the incident as deeply disturbing and demanded exemplary punishment in the case.
The victim was cremated in Patiala on Friday after postmortem formalities were completed.
